Fancy Flavoured Ice Cubes

The fancy flavoured ice cubes are something I absolutely adore.  I have them in my freezer on a regular basis. I love healthy food and drinks that are not just nourishing, but also look beautiful, creative, aromatic, and stylish. With just a pinch of nature and creativity, you can transform everyday beverages into something so beautiful for the eye and so extraordinary. So let’s enter Elsa’s world and create fancy ice cubes – a perfect blend of aroma, beauty, and flavour that’s almost surreal. These simple and stunning cubes are a wellness overload, and just looking at them can work wonders.

The fun part is that they are incredibly easy to prepare them. All you need is some herbs and excess fruit lying around your house, just waiting to be used in delicious, healthy, and visually stunning drinks. I must confess, I’m so hooked on these cubes, that I can’t enjoy any drink, even water, without adding few. They are a staple in my freezer on a regular basis.

Ingredients

  • Water – Because you can't have ice cubes without liquid, and what’s better and universal than water!

  • Fresh Herbs – Such as rosemary, basil, mint, lavender, and more.

  • Fruit Slices – Lemons, oranges, various berries, apples, peaches—the possibilities are endless.

  • Silicon Ice Cube Trays - While any ice cube tray will do, I STRONGLY recommend silicone ones.

Directions

  • Place a few slices of fruit into each compartment of the ice cube tray.
  • Add a few fresh herb leaves to each compartment.
  • Pour water into the tray, covering the fruit and herbs. Freeze for a couple of hours until the cubes are solid.

Let me show you a few of the many ways you can create these pretty ice cubes, and feel proud knowing you’re making the most of your fruits and herbs without wasting a thing.

Notes

  • If you want to level up, you can pure fresh juice instead water. I often pour fresh pomegranate juice that adds amazing flavour and beautiful colour to my drinks.

How to use the ice cubes

Drop the cubes into sangria, your favourite cocktail, or even just water. Enjoy the stunning look and refreshing flavour. Trust me, you’ll get seriously hooked on these stylish drinks. Cheers!

Why silicone ice cube trays are the best

The reason why I strongly encourage using the silicone ice cube trays, is that they’re incredibly easy to pop the ice cubes out of, and the larger cubes look fantastic. There are so many variations, shapes, and sizes available on the market. Here are a few of my top 3 choices:
