Pink Gin Spritz

Okay, confession time… I love a good gin cocktail. Especially when it’s summer, my little herb garden is thriving, and I’m in the mood to play a bartender in my own kitchen.

This Pink Gin Spritz is my summer drink obsession. Very similar to good-old gin and tonic, but prettier, a pinch fruitier, and with a sparkling pink glow that literally looks like a sunset in a glass.

And guess what? It takes just 3 key ingredients to make it (plus ice and a sprig of rosemary if you’re feeling fancy). Let’s make it happen.

What You’ll Need

Gin – Just pick your favourite brand of gin. The gin is a distilled alcoholic drink that gets its unique flavour from juniper berries, and that’s how it gets that unique piney taste. Often includes botanicals such as coriander, citrus peels, and spices, adding more complexity to the flavour.

Tonic Water – To add the lovely bitterish fizz, you need tonic water. It balances the gin perfectly and brings the whole drink to perfection.

Pink Grapefruit Juice – This is where the magic happens. Freshly squeezed juice is best, because it gives that gorgeous pink colour and a juicy tartness that brings the whole drink to life.

Ice Cubes – Chill is the key. Use regular ice, or make it fancier with my fancy herb-and-fruit ice cubes. Pretty and flavourful? That’s a double win.

Fresh Rosemary (optional) – A fresh streak of rosemary adds a lovely herbal twist and makes it look super elegant. So don’t overthink it.

  • 2 oz (60 ml) tonic water

  • Few ice cubes (regular or fancy)

  • 1 sprig of rosemary (for garnish)

How to Make Pink Gin Spritz

  • Prepare the ice at least few hours ahead (plain or fancy ice cubes, your call)
  • Add few ice cubes in a chilled glass.
  • Pour in gin and freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
    pour freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
  • Top up with tonic water.

Notes

  • If you want a less bitterish flavour, you can swap the tonic for sparkling water. Just add 1 tbsp of rosemary cocktail syrup. It tastes equally delicious.
  • If you want to go alcohol-free, just skip the gin. It still looks adorable and tastes delicious. Perfect for kiddos or mocktail lovers.

This drink is always a hit when friends come over. It looks fancy but is super easy to make. Just one rule – never drink on an empty stomach! Grab a little snack first. Here are few ideas of great snacks and appetizers to get inspired.
