Alright, here’s the truth – when I first tried a cardamom latte a year ago, I honestly couldn’t finish it! The flavour was just so new to me. I wasn’t used to the aroma, and it threw me off. But guess what? I gave it another shot and now I’m totally hooked on it! It has such a nice warm, cozy flavour that I can’t get enough of. Picture this: a steaming cup of cardamom latte in hand, a cozy blanket wrapped around you, curled up with a good book. Pure bliss, right?
Now, don’t let my first experience scare you off. Sometimes a new flavour takes time to grow on you, but it’s totally worth it. Give it a try because you might just find your new favourite!
What's Cardamom?
Cardamom is an aromatic spice with a unique floral taste, often called the “queen of spices.” And I see why, it has very rich intense aroma, and has been incredibly valued even in ancient time trades. It still remains a luxury spice today.
The closest spices I would compare it to are nutmeg and cinnamon, but it really has a flavour all its own. There are two types of cardamom: green (most common) and black (a bit more smokier). Form me, the cardamom is the magic “enhancer” from lattes, teas and desserts.
Fresh cardamom seeds or a powdered one
While powdered cardamom is easier to find, I try to use fresh cardamom pods when I can. All you need is a mortar and pestle to gently crack the pods and grind the seeds. It is that simple! And as with any other spice, fresh cardamom taste makes a big difference!m. Don’t worry if you only have the powdered kind, it will still be delicious.

Notes
- It is good idea to cut quantity of honey by 1/4 because it is sweeter than the maple syrup.
