Bacon Wrapped Dates With Blue Cheese

If there is one thing I pull out every single time I host – it is bacon wrapped dates. And not just any dates wrapped with bacon, but  blue cheese stuffed dates.

Honestly, the first time someone told me to mix sweet dates, salty bacon, and bold blue cheese, I thought they were joking. But oh my goodness, they turned out so good I wanted to high-five myself. These little bites are the reason people hover around the appetizer table. They are the reason I get texts asking for the recipe over and over again.

And yes, they are the easiest party appetizers ever. Only three main ingredients.

Why Blue Cheese Stuffed Dates?

That is such a fair question. But once you try the sweet dates stuffed with bold, creamy blue cheese and wrapped in crispy bacon – game over.

They taste like you spent hours making them, but really,  they take about 10 minutes of hands-on time.

They are fun to assemble, even more fun to eat, and you better believe guests will ask for the recipe every single time.

They are perfect finger food. No fancy plates, no major cleanup. Just grab, crunch and enjoy. Perfect party appetizers.

What You’ll Need For Bacon Wrapped Dates

I am not kidding when I say you only need three ingredients to make stuffed dates wrapped with bacon.

Bacon –  I like thin, maple-flavoured bacon because it crisps up perfectly. If you only have regular bacon, no problem, just brush on a tiny bit of maple syrup at the end. Easy fix.

Blue cheese – That sharp, tangy flavour is everything. It balances the sweetness of the dates beautifully. If you really can’t do blue cheese, swap in cream cheese or brie. But try it once with blue cheese. It is really the best combination.

Pitted dates – Go for pitted dates to save time. Prunes can work, but dates with blue cheese and bacon – that combination is unbeatable.

Optional:

Maple syrup – if the bacon is not already maple flavoured.

Toothpicks – to keep everything neat and stop cheese from sneaking out.
